There are people who depend on you when you’re running a business, whether that’s your family, your employees, your customers or even your suppliers. We recognise that the decisions you make affect more than just your finances, and we take that into account whenever we’re offering advice.

So, a little about us...
The Accountancy Space was founded in 2017 by Charlotte Fernley, an accountant with over 26 years’ experience, a curious mind and a genuine interest in understanding how businesses work.
We’re problem-solvers first and accountants second.
Of course, the bookkeeping, tax returns and deadlines matter, and we take them seriously. But to us, accounting is about so much more than keeping everything up to date. It’s about making sense of what’s happening, asking questions and using that information to make better decisions. Why is a profitable business struggling for cash? What’s working well? What’s costing more than it should? Are there opportunities nobody’s spotted yet? These are the sorts of things we love getting our teeth into.
That doesn’t mean every client needs detailed financial analysis or an outsourced finance director. Some simply want someone reliable to take care of their accounts, VAT and payroll, explain things clearly and make sure everything’s running smoothly. Others want more hands-on support, whether that’s planning for the future, exploring opportunities or working through a particular problem.
We’re equally happy doing both.
We’re practical, straightforward and not afraid to question something that doesn’t quite add up. We won’t tell you what you want to hear just for the sake of it, and we won’t recommend services you don’t need. We’d much rather have an honest conversation and find a solution that genuinely helps.
At the end of the day, our approach is pretty simple.
We do the accounting properly. We help you understand what it means. And we’re here when you need a bit more than that.
